The Association consists of six divisions:

Children’s Theatre
Creative Drama
Secondary School Theatre
University/College Theatre
Community Theatre
Professional Theatre

Each of these divisions has endeavored to achieve the outcomes in all its years of existence through developing programs to meet the changing needs in art, in education, and in the society. Each division holds at least one event each year, festival, conference or workshop, designed to meet these needs.

Christine Adaire has combined her career as a teacher with that of a professional actor for over 25 years. Professor Adaire has taught at Simon’s Rock College of Bard, National Theatre School of Canada, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, De Paul University, Shanghai Theater Academy, and University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In addition, she has been a master teacher of voice and text, as well as a core company member of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts for more than 20 years. Ms. Adaire has done professional voice and text coaching at theatres including Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Court Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Lookingglass Theatre, among others. She has acted and directed at theatres including Shakespeare & Company, Porthouse Theatre, Stage West Theatre, Illinois Shakespeare Festival and Hartman Theatre.

The Illinois Theatre Association is an approved provider of workshops for professional development
by the Illinois State Board of Education
Certificates for 10 units of Professional Development will be available
Lunch both days is included in the registration

Roosevelt University is in the historic Auditorium Theatre Building on Michigan Avenue overlooking Grant Park. It is easily accessible by public transportation. Parking in the area is approximately $15 per day. Detailed directions and information on hotel accommodations will be sent with confirmation.
